Entry from: Como, Italy Entry Title: "Lake under Grandeur of the Alps" Entry: "After the incident of nearing miss the train (the girls were actually trying to hold the train while the guys were rushing with the lunch packs and heavy backpacks) and a rough lunch onboard, we arrived Como in the afternoon. Located at the north of Milan, Como, on the southern edge of Lago di Como (Lake Como) is the main access town to the lake. Some were saying that although the lakeside location is stunning, but the place was popularized after George Clooney decided to reside here.. hahaha. We took the Funicolare (Cable car) from Como to Brunate, a quiet hilltop village offering the view of the lake and Como town. But unfortunately, it was very foggy during the time we were there. Although we missed the splendid view, we spent a lazy afternoon having our coffee moments, laid back and letting all that we experienced in Italy to sink in, as Como will be the last stop we have in Italy before we switch to Paris, France. It was about sunset when we got down from Brunate. Walking along the waterfront, looking at the lake turned molten gold in the setting sun, it was the perfect gift from Italy for bidding our adieu. Visit the home of abolitionist John Brown, take an elevator ride to the top of the Olympic ski jumps where history was made in 1980. Lake Placid makes a delightful summer day trip.

Another popular destination, Saratoga Springs is just a short 30-minute drive from Lake George. The thoroughbred horse racing season brings world-famous horses and owners from around the world for a season of excitement. The Saratoga Battlefield was the location of one of the determining battles of the war. Just another 30 minutes south the dynamic New York State Capital at Albany greets visitors with unique architecture, the New York State Museum, shopping at Empire State Plaza, malls and theatres.
